Halloween 2014

Crew and I visited the pumpkin patch with Jill and the kiddos - soo fun! GandG Nelson sent Crewzer his first halloween card. He LOVED it. And I went to Halloween ZUMBA!!! I am feeling pretty good these days! And on Halloween day, we saw our old friends SaraJoy and Raul and their little gal, Sienna. Love them! Then later that night we went to Gma B's for some chili and to show off our tired little chicken. Can't wait till next year! We loved dressing up our little man.

Crew's Blessing Day

On October 12, 2014, Crew was given a name and beautiful blessing by his dad! He was 5 1/2 weeks old. I can't believe that Crew has already begun to take part in ordinances. We even got an official blessing certificate! It was such a special day and I was so happy that so many of our family members who love and support Crew so much were able to be there! I was reminded several times throughout the day of the overwhelming love that Heavenly Father has for his children, and specifically, Crew! What a special little boy we have. Here is his blessing that Gramma Nelson transcribed for us: 

"By the power of the Melchizedek priesthood which we hold we take this infant in our arms to give him a name and a blessing and the name by which he shall be known in this life and upon the records of the church is Crew Jaren Nelson.
Crew, at this time we give you a blessing. We bless you with the health and strength that you will need to continue to grow and develop. We bless you that you will have a love for the gospel and a testimony of your Savior. We bless you that your testimony will help you throughout your life and give you a desire to serve a mission, to find a bride to take to the temple, to be able to righteously raise a family together. Crew, we bless you with happiness and a willing desire to obey your parents and to always love and respect your mother. We bless you that the Holy Spirit will always be with you to lead and guide you throughout your life and that you will be able to accomplish those righteous desires that you will have. Crew we love you very much and these things we do and say in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

It was SOO perfect. But during his blessing, on the part about loving his mother, he TOTALLY made some scary bum-noises all over everyone's hands :S So immediately following the sacrament, I rushed him to the mother's lounge. Yup, he had a blow out. Luckily, his outfit scrubbed out nicely :) Isn't that some kind of rite of passage for boys though? To destroy an all-white outfit on a really important day? D.U.N, done. After the meeting, we all went to my parents' house for a BIG brunch! The food was so yummy! Stay tuned for more studio pics of Crew in his handsome blessing outfit!
